When we first met wth your company, you spoke of the reliability and the high quality of your customer service and quality of your work. Your team truly proved that to us in the interactions that we had with you and your employees. The quality and the craftsmanship of our deck are superb.

Despite the delays with the uncooperative weather, the project was completed nearly a week before the scheduled completion date. We found the meetings and the progress reports to be productive and helpful in moving things along and keeping us up to date on the progress of the work. The one improvement that we can see is including the staining and sealing of the deck as part of the project.

Returned home from my genealogical foray out West and was welcomed by our wonderful new deck (and wonderful old husband, of course).  The deck is better than what we had anticipated.  We are out there reading essentially every evening and we rarely did that with the old splintery, wobbly deck.
What we liked about Custom Built Decks:

• The design process was not rushed.  Michael listened to us and gave us the info on structural details as well as cost to help us make the best decision.
• We felt informed about the costs as well as pros and cons of pressured-treated, cedar, and synthetic materials.  Even though we spent more than we had budgeted, we fell we made the right decision on the deck materials.
• The professionalism of the work crew.  Dave would arrive early and stay late but was, oddly enough, never obtrusive.  The work area was always clean at the end of each day and he kept us informed of what to anticipated next.
• Michael came to the worksite on at least three occasions to see if we had any questions.  He was always available, even after the first check was written and deposited.
• We felt we could make changes as the progression of the deck evolved.  We never felt locked into a “bad design” decision.

Here is a succinct comment for your website/brochure:

We just wanted to thank you again for the impressive, professional work that was done by Custom Built to finish our basement.  The first time we met you we found you to be very professional, and you listened carefully to all of our needs.  We also like how you were very efficient in getting us a meeting with you and the designer. The designs were a big part of why we chose Custom Built over other builders.  Instead of just coming up with one plan to choose from, your designer supplied us with three very good options.  Also, the use of space was very efficient with every design.

Since my wife and I are never real confident about our color choices, and since we have a two and a half year old who can’t stand still in stores, you offered us an interior decorator.  She was a real relief to have working with us.  She made choosing materials and colors very simple and efficient. Just before construction began, we liked how you supplied us with the schedule for each area of work to be done, as well as the list of subcontractors that were going to be in our house.  During construction, we found your subcontractors to be very courteous and very open to consultation on anything we or they had question about.  We especially want to point out that Brian, the carpenter, went out of his way to make sure he built everything exactly the way we wanted it.  He also told us honestly when he thought, based on his experiences, that something might not look right.  We really appreciated that.  Frank and Pat from Olde Style Tile also deserve recognition, because they custom cut some of our tiles in a creative way to make our shower look much better than it would have had they just placed the tile in a more simple, traditional way.

Everything during construction stayed efficient, and the crews cleaned up as they worked. Chris, we want to thank you for always being informed by the crews and always seeking our input and asking about our concerns.  Whenever anything did arise that needed to be changed or corrected, you took care of it in a quick and professional manner.  We feel that anyone who is considering remodeling their basement should definitely give Custom Built very strong consideration.  We will certainly be recommending your company to anyone we meet, including our family and friends, who may be thinking about finishing their basement.

Last winter, when we learned that our careers would keep us here for the next several years, we decided to finish our unfinished basement.  The idea was to have a place where our daughters would have a place to spend time with their friends, rather than have them hanging out elsewhere. We got one quote from our builder, but then we noticed an open house in our neighborhood, hosted by Custom Built.  The basement remodeling job was incredible, so we asked them to give us a quote.  Their quote was competitive with the one we’d already received, and their approach and assurances put us at ease. We’re happy to report that Custom Built kept their word and finished the job, on time and budget, and that it looks fabulous.  The guys were all hardworking, conscientious builders.  We have no complaints, except that we have to fight our girls for use of what is now the nicest area in our home. We’re thinking of adding a sunroom, and we’ll certainly call Custom Built when the time comes.
